Another season, another designer collaboration…but this is one I’m particularly excited about. Amanda Nisbet, the New York–based designer known for her daring use of color and combination of styles, recently teamed up with Kyle Bunting to create a gorgeous rug. Nisbet designed the ikat-inspired piece, called Twilight, and chose seven seasonal color combinations that are a true representation of her fun, lively style. Find it at Webster & Co. in Boston.

Contrast and texture are key in Lawrence McGarvey’s work that I spotted in Amie Greenspan’s Appleton Art Design gallery in Westport, Conn. This particular piece, a black-and-white image of coral on Plexiglas, appears both organic and modern at the same time. While his work encompasses different and brighter colors, the drama of the stark black and white attracted me the most.
