Earlier this week I wrote about an adventurous new company: The Atlantic Workshop! This new home décor, furniture company is sailing toward a new horizon of seaworthy furniture made from salvaged and repurposed materials.

I had fun when visiting with owner Scott Feen at his workshop and gallery, and I was thrilled while viewing so many of his latest design projects. Therefore I have extended Monday’s post with one of my favorite Atlantic Workshop pieces.

I wasn’t surprised at all when Scott told me his inspiration for this sideboard came from pieces of old cabinetry he found at the Chatham town recycling center. This sideboard/bar was reconstructed for a client by using moldings, mirrors and shutters and then adding a beautiful grey finish. I just can’t help but marvel at Scott Feen’s ability to see endless possibilities for each diamond in the rough discovered.

David and Jennifer Clancy work in a classic early American post-and-beam barn in Jamestown, Rhode Island, but the pieces they turns out at Clancy Designs Glass Studio are anything but old-fashioned. The husband-and-wife team crafts a wide assortment of things for  the home, both functional—light fixtures, tableware, vessel sinks and mosaic tiles—and just to look at—ornaments, paperweights and fanciful botanical sculptures. In all cases, though, nothing that comes out of the studio is ordinary.

If you want a statement piece in your home, the Cerulean Sea light fixture will speak loud and clear.
