Boston Made: Arts and Crafts Jewelry and Metalwork at the Museum of Fine Arts

January 1, 2019 - March 31, 2020

The International Arts and Crafts movement spurred a renaissance of hand craftsmanship in Boston at the turn of the twentieth century. The city emerged as a vibrant jewelry-making and metalworking community. The movement is characterized by works featuring bold color, gemstones, enamels, and history-inspired designs. Boston Made showcases more than 75 works—including jewelry, tableware, decorative accessories, and more. Perhaps the designs of this noted movement will inspire your designs today?

Connecticut Flower and Garden Show

February 21 @ 10:00 am - 7:00 pm

The Connecticut Convention Center will be transformed into a gardener’s paradise, with landscape exhibits spread out over more than an acre within the center’s Exhibit Hall. A program of more than 20 speakers ensures there will be plenty for gardening lovers to learn while they enjoy the scenery. Tickets are $18, $16 for seniors, $5 for children. Laissez-faire Opening Reception

Laissez-faire, an exhibit featuring Brooklyn-based textile company Eskayel and artist Patrick Weder, opens Feb. 21 and remains on display through April 7.  Eskayel's Belize Blooms Collection, inspired by French painter Matisse, wraps the gallery walls in two colorways, covers various vintage furniture pieces in jacquard and linen fabrics, and has been transcribed onto silk and merino wool hand-knotted rugs for the exhibit.
