Design in Depth: Treasured Trees

November 30, 2011

By Stacy Kunstel If you haven't done it already, you may be thinking about putting up a Christmas tree this weekend. Decorating a tree is one of the most personal—and sometimes most challenging—do-it-yourself decorating tasks you'll take on. Some people use generations-old family ornaments, while others concoct a new theme each year. I couldn't help but share some tree inspiration this week to help put you in the holiday spirit. One of the most dazzling Christmas photography shoots I've ever done was at the home of interior designer Cindy Rinfret.

Cindy's entire house was a lesson in holiday decorating.

You can catch a glimpse of a tree I decorated this year for a Better Homes & Gardens Christmas shoot. Simple, clean and country was the theme.

New England Home contributing editor Karin Lidbeck Brent has produced her share of stunning trees for magazines over the years.

I'm also quite fond of these tabletop trees I found on the House Beautiful site.
