Marianne Donahue Interiors
Marianne Donahue began her college studies as a French major, then moved into Interior Design and Business. In 1985, she started her own design firm, “Castles and Cottages” in Longmeadow, Massachusetts, working on commercial as well as residential accounts.
She first met Joseph Namnoun, owner of J. Namnoun Oriental Rug Gallery in 1987 when they collaborated on carpet selections for one of Donahue’s clients. For the next seven years, they worked together repeatedly on many diverse projects throughout the Northeast.
In 1994, Donahue joined Namnoun as a partner in the Oriental Rug Gallery and became one of the very few women working in this field. “Our backgrounds and skills are very different, but we share a passion for the arts. I think that shows in our design work,” states Donahue. Her signature look is a combination of old world design in classic rich colors combined with a surprising touch of modernism.
