Styling Winter Bouquets

Even during the cold months ahead there is inspiration to be found outdoors in the bare winter landscape.

Bare branches are prefect for adding interest, texture, and shape to floral arrangements. When I styled this floral bouquet for a winter setting, I spray painted bare branches white and mixed in some lotus pods to enhance the icy palette.

Massing bare branches in a giant bundle makes a striking display inside a circle of pink amaryllis, adding height and drama.

Small twigs make great fillers for any arrangement. I added a few in these small cups with winter white flowers to fill the negative spaces and create the feel of a winter wonderland.

Large branches with interesting shapes result in sculptural arrangements that can be dramatic in open spaces. I love the way this arrangement mimics the woodland landscape outside.

Conifers branches simply placed in a low vessel are an easy way to add some winter décor to a table setting. Pines are a  seasonal accent perfect for adding warmth and color well past the Christmas holiday.

Long straight branches sprayed red are eye catching in a dramatically tall glass vessel. Can adding a bit of drama get any simpler than that?
