Sketch Pad: A Garden for Midwinter

Landscape architect Katherine Field, of Katherine Field and Associates in Newport, Rhode Island, designed this midwinter garden for the January/February 2010 issue of New England Home.

According to Field, an outdoor landscape “room” designed for winter should always be located so it gets sun and is viewed from the places in the house where you spend a lot of time during the day.
