HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD A BUILDER BE CONTACTED IF THE PROJECT HAS A GOAL OF 18 MONTHS TO COMPLETE? We have the experience and the flexibility to design, mobilize, and build on very tight schedules. Scope and design intent varies so much, however, from client to client and project to project, it is impossible to generalize.
WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE ADDRESSED NEXT IN HOME SUSTAINABILITY? Affordability. Ever-increasing regulation, zoning rules that limit density, and “not in my backyard” attitudes put constant upward pressure on land values in our region. An environment in which working people cannot afford to live is unsustainable.
HOW EFFECTIVE ARE TODAY'S NEW COMPOSITE BUILDING MATERIALS? In general products get improved with time as they are tried, tested and perfected - composite or not. This is happening with composite materials but in most cases the performance and aesthetics of all-natural materials is still better.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD A BUILDER BE CONTACTED IF THE PROJECT HAS A GOAL OF 18 MONTHS TO COMPLETE? Right away – early input is always best.
WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE ADDRESSED NEXT IN HOME SUSTAINABILITY? Energy efficiency is a hallmark of sustainable houses. However, making houses too tight could result in the creation of sick houses. We have opened up 100 year old homes and the wood is still intact. We have opened up 15 year old homes and the wood is rotting away. Houses need to breathe. We have to find the best solutions for each of these challenges.
HOW EFFECTIVE ARE TODAY'S NEW COMPOSITE BUILDING MATERIALS? Composite wood used on the outside of houses is highly effective – especially in trim boards and details. It does not rot. Caeser stone for countertops is effective as well.
